Wilderlings are a mysterious subspecies of strudels residing in the wilderness. They have completely turned their backs on humanity, rejecting traditional offerings entirely. This subspecies has only popped up in recent years, and rumors of a rebellion are on the rise. They live entirely off of the earth, and refuse to rely on mankind for food or shelter. While some Wilderlings may turn their backs on their wild lifestyle, and migrate into the cities, they are sworn to silence, and refuse to speak of what exactly is going on in those deep dark woods.
Notable Traits: Thick whiskers, dewlaps, and unique features adapted to their environment.

Wilderlings watch the forest animals to discover which foods are safe, and which need to stay off limits. As different generations of strudels are born and raised in the woods, their parents pass this information on to them. Their offerings may include foraged berries, wild edible plants, or even wild game if they manage to befriend the local animals. Much like humans and other animals, there are foods that wilderlings must avoid, such as poisonous mushrooms. Though they may not die from ingesting it, something much more sinister is bound to happen.
Wilderlings raise their young in the seclusion of the forest. A young wilderling knows nothing of the outside world. If a wilderling decides to migrate into the cities and turn their back on their home, producing young with a household strudel, their offspring would be of the household variety or wilderling variety depending on the offering presented.
