The Queen.
Strudels operate under a monarchy. Having originally hailed from the realm of the fae, where the Queen of Faeries ruled, strudels are innately accustomed to the presence of a monarch. This tradition trickled down into the modern generation. The Queen of Faeries is still widely admired by strudels as well, though they have been cut off from her presence for centuries.
Corruption.
Offerings of gourmet foods and high class ingredients are often guarded and hoarded for wealthy families. While this rather shady operation may not have affected the general population as much in the olden days, with offerings becoming scarce, disappearances more frequent, and Trickster populations on the rise, one can't help but connect the two...
Authorities are under orders to intercept any trickster squatting near human residences due to the threats of the kitchen. However, the government is still largely unsure of what exactly to do with them. They are either relocated, or help in a prison away from strudel society. Wilderlings are known to perform raids and break tricksters free when they are able to.

Tricksters.
Tricksters are entirely shunned from society, forced to live a life in the alleyways, abandoned homes, etc. While household strudels may gain rather beneficial blessings, tricksters are doomed to cause misfortune wherever they go. This rather unfortunate side effect may contribute to popular restaurants and cafes going out of business, thus cutting off another source of offerings. Due to their misfortune, any trickster caught residing in a human dwelling will be chased out by authorities, or detained. The existence of tricksters was once boiled down to nothing but a wive's tail meant to scare young children. However, with their numbers undeniably on the rise, their existence can no longer be hidden away. Few truly know how a trickster comes to be, only that they threaten their safety. They are demonized by society, and the blame for the offering shortage is pushed upon them.
