If you have ever known someone who couldn't cook to save their own life, a trickster is certainly at fault.
When a strudel fails to receive their offering, and resorts to consuming scraps, garbage, or inedible objects, they are doomed to a monstrous transformation. Once nothing more than an urban legend among strudelkind, tricksters have been becoming more common over the years due to the offering shortage.

Though these creatures are not inherently evil, a streak of misfortune is sure to follow in their wake. Tricksters are known for causing any amount of chaos in the kitchen, from broken dishes to burnt casseroles. It seems each strudel has their own unique curse, usually attributed to their failed offering. Perhaps a trickster who has taken an onion offering causes incontrollable weeping while slicing the pungent vegetables. The more tricksters accumulated in a single household, the more misfortune is said to befall the household.
Tricksters are often chased from human households by household strudels and forced to live a life on the streets. Though some of these creatures might move from house to house, never staying for too long, so as to escape the attention of authorities. Due to their poor treatment, tricksters are often bitter and resentful to domestic strudels.

A strudel can go up to 5 months without needing food. At this time, they begin to search for an offering. Another 5 months can pass before they begin to starve, which will trigger the Trickster transformation. Once this starvation and desperation begins to set in, a strudel might result in desperate measures to find an offering. They'll consume whatever they can possibly find: garbage, trash, inedible objects, etc.
