A distant cousin to the brownies of Scottish folklore, these fae live side-by-side with humans, blessing them with good luck in the kitchen in exchange for food offerings. They take up residence in the unused sections of a home, including dusty attics, cellars, or even going so far as to construct whole cities in the walls of buildings. Strudels have a huge appetite, and accumulate in places where food is plentiful!

Though all strudels have enough time to start developing their personalities from the time they hatch to the time they go out and search for their offering, it's not uncommon for their filling to influence their personality! For example, an espresso offering may cause your strudel to always be alert and hyper. Some strudels are also picky with their offerings, and will choose foods that may match their personalities.
If a full year passes without an offering, they will fade away from existence. As offerings become harder to find and tradition dies out, the disappearances have become more common. However, acknowledging their existence is generally taboo. The higher ups of strudel society have begun covering up these incidents, as a last-ditch attempt to keep the masses calm as the offering shortage grows more dire. Though the families may mourn for the loss of their children, being open about their loss is forbidden.
