Arborlings are different from Strudels and Thimblets. Instead of taking an offering after birth or being made from found objects, Arborlings are cultivated from seeds. Their appearance is determined from the seed they are cultivated from and not after birth. These seeds are often sprouted from excess amounts of magic lingering in one area. When a seed receives enough magical influence, it will sprout into an Arborling.
Arborlings' rarities are organized by the type of plant they are cultivated from. A dandelion Arborling might not be as rare as an Arborling cultivated from bleeding tooth fungus. Even though there is plant rarity between Arborlings, Arborlings do not have set subspecies like Strudels and Thimblets.

Unlike the other subspecies, Arborlings can be born in the Faerie World and the Veil. Arborlings born in the Faerie world will look much different than an Earth-derived Arborling due to magic not being as prevalent on Earth. Arborlings are very social creatures in both the Faerie World and Veil. They love to live in large groups! As space in the Veil gets smaller between the abundance of all the subspecies, Arborlings, Thimblets, and Strudels live together more and more. Arborlings, however, have begin to prefer living with Wilderlings over Household Strudels, because of the similarities and likes that are shared between the two subspecies. Over time Arborlings have even started to help Wilderlings harness their raw magical abilities, and teach them tricks to living in the wild. As the connection between the two subspecies grows, Arborlings have started to side more with Wilderlings in strudel politics.
Out of the three subspecies living in the Veil, Arborlings interact with humans on a deeper level. They mostly interact with witches, who befriend these creatures to help them find rare ingredients for spells. Because Arborling magic is specialized in alchemy, they are excellent in botany, medicine, potions, and animal husbandry. The magic they have help them enchant pets and cultivate seeds! This makes them the perfect companion for a Human witch.
Like the other subspecies present in Veil, Arborlings love to collect pets and companions. They prefer more plant and bug themed pets than say, a Household Strudel's preference for dessert themed ones.
Arborlings can die, just like the other subspecies, but are more susceptible to plant illnesses and diseases.
